Vegan for a month. The verdict.

Nobody needs to be told that veganism and plant based diets are everywhere right now. Walk into any supermarket and you will find whole walls dedicated to free from food. Instagram now hosts thousands of vegan food diaries, and even Netflix is showcasing documentaries on why going meat and animal product free is the way forward.

There are hundred of claims about why adopting a vegan or raw diet (another story for another time) is better for you and honestly, some of these sound too good to be true. Ultimately though, how else to find out than to try it first hand? My boyfriend agreed to join in with me, thankfully, making dinner time a lot easier! As did his brother, after watching ‘What the Health’. Cue pizza parties! Anyway…

2014 was admittedly very photography oriented as many of my friends are now scattered around England but it has definitely given me a much better focus on where I want to be.

A look at the year…

I bought my first full frame DSLR and lighting equipment, paid for entirely through photography work proving to myself that I can do it. Then in March I threw myself out of my comfort zone and went to Edinburgh with a whole bunch of people to take photographs.

Samantha

After committing to photography full time, I wanted to do take the opportunity to create something purely for fun and last week I finally got the opportunity to work with Sammy. I can only describe it as incredibly anticipated; it was long overdue.

Armed with some red mesh, flowers vines and garlands, amongst other things, we headed off to our handpicked location. However as the rain poured down on us we ultimately decided to improvise. And this is where the fun kicked in.
